Omaha In Home Dog Training

IMG 2270 - Omaha In Home Dog Training

Although Dog Gone Problems’ reputation was built by fixing thousands of dog behavior problems, we also offer in home dog training to our clients in Omaha, Nebraska and the surrounding area.

If you want someone else to train your dog for you, check out our Dog Daycare or Group Training class options. If your dog is human aggressive, check out our Aggressive Dog Rehabilitation Program.

Due to our founder’s Dog Behaviorist background, we believe in only using modern, force free, positive dog training methods. This approach helps us show you how to train your dog in a way that it wants to do what you want it to do, not because its trying to avoid a punishment.

The old way of training a dog was based on rewards for desired behaviors and punishment when the dog failed to do the right thing. Research has shown that use of prong collars, harsh leash corrections, alpha rolls, physical punishment and verbal chastisement results in insecure dogs with lower self esteem who are far more likely to develop Psychological issues that are far more difficult to fix.

Dog trainers who use the old punishment based methods are often referred to as balanced trainers or users of force or dominance theory. Unfortunately, the majority of dog trainers in the Omaha area still use these out of date methods.

At the end of the day, you simply need to ask yourself one question; do you want your dog to obey you because it fears you, or because you taught it what you wanted in a way that motivates the dog to WANT to please you. We know that we are far more inclined to do something if there is a positive benefit or reward to it.

Our positive, rewards-based approach has allowed us to teach dogs faster, easier and with far superior results. Our client’s dogs look to their humans for guidance or the next command with joy and enthusiasm.

Our in home dog training sessions are customized to you, your family members (we love working with kids), your dog and the commands or tricks you want it to perform. These one hour session are effective as your dog is in it home environment ensuring its comfortable and confident.
