Dog Gone Problems Sunday Social School

Sunday Social School

Guiding Puppies Through Adolescence

Dog Gone Problems Sunday Social School is a one-hour socialization program for puppies 6–12 months old designed to help them build confidence, develop appropriate social skills and practice great manners through professionally supervised play.

Participation requires instructor approval. Puppies must be between 6 and 12 months of age and have demonstrated appropriate social and play skills during Puppy Class before joining Sunday Social School. This allows us to create balanced play groups where every puppy can continue learning and building confidence.

More Than Just a Puppy Playgroup

At Dog Gone Problems, we don’t believe every puppy learns by simply being turned loose with a group of dogs.

For our Sunday Social School, our instructors actively supervise play, encourage appropriate interactions, recognize when excitement begins to escalate and help puppies develop the ability to calm themselves before play resumes.

If puppies get over stimulated or dont read the other pup’s social signals, the small group allows our instructors to guide your pup away, give them a treat out or take a short crate break.

Our goal is for every puppy to have positive social learning experiences.

How Sunday Socials School Works

Parents drop their puppy off for one hour of professionally supervised socialization.

All puppies are crated upon arrival then released for 25 minutes of playtime under the supervision of a pupppy class instructor. After a 10 minute crate break, pups are released for 20 minutes of additional playtime before being crated for pick up.

When you pick up your pup, your instructor will give you a quick breakdown of how your puppy did  in the playgroup.

Your Puppy Will Learn To…

  • Play appropriately with other puppies.
  • Read canine body language.
  • Take breaks when excitement gets too high.
  • Build confidence around new dogs.
  • Develop better social manners.
  • Prepare for Dog Daycare Club.

Three Play Groups for the Best Experience

To provide safe, appropriate play and better matched playmates, Sunday Social School is divided into three groups based on your puppy’s size.

Laguna Social School (Large Breed Group)

  • Puppies over 35 pounds

Summerland Social School (Medium Breed Group)

  • Puppies 16–34 pounds

Lido Social School (Small Breed Group)

  • Puppies under 15 pounds

While size is our primary consideration, we also look at play style and energy. Your instructor will help make sure we place your puppy in the group that’s the best fit.
