We opened our small dog daycare in Omaha to provide dog owners with a safer option than traditional high-volume dog daycares.

Most Omaha dog daycare’s have 20 to 40 dogs in a single room, watched by one person. As Omaha’s dog behavior experts, we knew that that was not what is was best for most dogs.

Our concept is a low volume dog daycare run by dog behavior experts where the dog needs come first.

We limit our rooms to a maximum of 12 dogs. This low number allows us to work with dogs on their behavior, basic obedience and manners each day they spend with us.  We celebrate desired behaviors, play kennel games, work with dogs on their manners to reduce barking, jumping, pawing for attention, etc. Our goal is that your dog comes home better after every visit to our small dog daycare club.

Omaha’s Small Dog Daycare Club

We love us some small dogs. Our smallest member is a 3 pound teacup poodle named Coco Puff. Due to her size, her guardian was very reluctant to take her to a traditional dog daycare.

But at Dog Gone Problems small dog daycare, Coco Puff has grown by leaps and bounds. The low number of dogs in our facility set her up for success and didn’t overwhelm her. Since we have such a small number of dogs, our room attendents get to know each dog well. This allows them to give each dog additional care, love and personal attention that’s just not possible in high volume daycares.

When Coco Puff first started daycare, she was overwhelmed. Our daycare attendant Kyryi immediately recognized her unease and created a small VIP area in the room where Coco Puff could observe the other dogs without them being able to get to her. Each time she looked at them or had a positive interaction, or daycare attendant would pet her or give her a treat. At first the looks were fleeting, but as we practiced, she started to look at the other dogs more and more.

It didn’t take long before Coco Puff communicated she wanted to venture out to play with the other dogs. We watched her closely as she ventured out further and further. Watching this small dog gain confidence in our daycare made everyone here super proud. But it didnt stop there.

Kyryi noticed that Coco and some of the other small dogs felt more relaxed when she was closer to them. So Kyryi decided to lay down to see what happened. She wasnt surprised when Coco came over and gave her a kiss. But then the other dogs started to congregate around her, she knew she had found something. Some of the dogs even jumped up on Kyryi’s back to snuggle in for a quick nap.

If there were 20 or more dogs in that room, there is no way Kyryi would be able to do something so unusual for Coco Puff. But it’s just another example of the benefits of our low volume small dog daycare! Anyone can set up a place for dogs to run around and have fun. But creating a situation that helps the dogs get over fears, learn skills or become a better dog is what keeps us going.

Our small dog daycare room is for dogs who are under 25 pounds. Separating dogs by their size and weight is another reasons why we were able to provide safe small dog daycare in Omaha.
