Most dog behavior problems start in the first 1-2 months of a puppy’s life in their new home; like finding your Dalmatian puppy waiting to greet you in the bathroom sink after shredding all the toilet paper.
Knowing what to do, or more spefically what NOT to do in the first month a puppy is home makes all the difference in the world which is why we created our Puppy Head Start program.
Our Puppy Head Start program combines 4 or 12 weeks of Omaha’s best puppy classes with an in home visit from your instructor the week you bring your puppy home (or asap if the pup is already there). This in home visit allows us to point out all the common mistakes people make that contribute or cause the unwanted behavior problems.
These occurs because of the differences between how humans and dogs think and learn. In some situations, these differences confuse the dog and actually train the puppy to do the opposite of what the humans want.
Working with the 3,000+ puppies who have graduated from our puppy classes, we learned that by the time most get to class, many of these unwanted behavior problems have already started.
To prevent that, we’ll send one of our instructors to your home for a one hour, customized session where we share tips and secrets that will make having that puppy 200% easier. Some of our Puppy Head Start graduates are able to have free run of the house at as early as 5 months.
Your personalized in home session is customized for your puppy and family’s specific needs, giving you a plan that will make having a puppy 200% easier. Your instructor will also be a trusted resource for any questions or problems that come up.

The instructor will evaluate your puppy, home environment and your goals to create the perfect plan that will make having a puppy infinitely easier, helping you get started on:
- Potty training
- Stop mouthing and nipping
- A better option than kennel training
- Prevent chewing furniture, shoes, power cords, carpet, etc
- How to easily prevent your pup from developing separation anxiety
- The importance of the Critical Socialization Period
- How to train your puppy by simply petting it in a special way
- Teach your puppy to sit to ask for attention
- Teach you and your puppy some basic commands
- Teach kids the do’s and dont’s of having a puppy
- Answers for any specific questions you may have
Your puppy will also be enrolled in our (Health Department – Covid-19 Approved) small group, weekday evening puppy classes. These classes cover basic commands, some tricks and most importantly socialization time to help your puppy develop good social skills and confidence.
