Dog Gone Problems is now offering daycare for timid dogs at our West Center Dog Daycare in Omaha. We call it timid Tuesday and it’s a day that we set aside for dogs that are shy, quiet, elderly or timid.

Putting a timid dog together with a bunch of happy-go-lucky dogs that are running around and playing together can create a really unpleasant experience for shy dogs. All the energy and excitement is just too much which causes timid dogs to become stressed and anxious. Pretty much exactly the opposite experience you’re looking for.

We have run across a number of timid puppies who are enrolled in our puppy classes. Whenever we get a shy dog like that, we set up a VIP fencing area in the room for that dog. This allows the timid dog to watch and observe the other dogs from a safe place while the other pups play.

We often played matchmaker by introducing shy puppies from different classes so that they could have play dates together. We have found that when you get a timid dog together with another timid dog, it can help both of them gain confidence.

We have helped hundreds of timid or shy puppies grow their confidence and learn to feel safe and secure around other dogs. We have transferred that knowledge and experience to our low volume dog care on Timid Tuesdays.

The other days of the week, dogs at o ur doggy daycare are running around, playing, fetching, and having the time of their life. But on Tuesdays, it’s a slow jam – all day long

We set each timid dog up for success through our 3 part daycare evaluation process. One of our steps is to have the dog come to our daycare on a Sunday when we are closed for a private, VIP tour.

For a timid dog, the quiet building and lack of dogs and people allows them to sniff around and explore and gain their bearings. Giving each perspective new member 30 minutes to sniff and walk around off Leash is a great way for them to gain some confidence.

This positive experience can help a shy dog learn that our dog daycare is a safe place. After all, nothing negative happened and their humans accompanied them throughout the entire tour.

We are the only dog daycare that give dogs a VIP tour before their behavior evaluation, but to us it’s a no-brainer. We have been teaching people how to train their dogs positively and set their dogs up for success since 2010.

On timid Tuesdays, the dogs are not running around like crazy. There’s a lot of napping, cuddling, nuzzling and quiet companionship. Here’s an example of dogs in our daycare for Timid Tuesday.

If we were looking for click bait, we would have a nice video of the dogs running around and playing together, but that’s not what a timid dog needs. Instead, being around other dogs that have low energy and just want to hang out, your dog will feel comfortable which is the first step to gaining con

One of our favorite things to do is to help timid dogs or shy dogs gain back their confidence. But timid Tuesday is also a great day for dogs who are elderly as well.

Just like humans, many dogs don’t wanna be left home alone. People are often surprised that we offer a timid Tuesday for shy dogs but once they see their dog gaining confidence, they wonder where we’ve been.

We are always selective as to which dogs we approve as members of our low volume doggy daycare because we think that providing a safe environment is one of the most important factors.

Keeping our rooms to a maximum of 12 dogs, carefully vetting each dog and then working with them to set them up for success by selecting the appropriate day, our daycare staff doesn’t just watch dogs, we make them better.

Whether its going over some basic obedience lessons, giving them some special attention, helping them grow their confidence through supervise playtime or giving them the space they need, our daycare attendants make it their personal mission to give each dog the best experience when they’re in our west center dog daycare.

If you have a dog that has separation anxiety, is shy, quiet or timid and you’re looking for a safe place for them to hang out with other dogs, let us know.

We’d love to arrange for your dog to come in for a VIP tour to see what we’re all about.

Please fill out the form below and one of our daycare staff will reach out to answer any questions you have and schedule a tour if you wish.
