We have 3 different dog behavior service levels for clients who work with our Dog Dehavior staff. These 3 levels correspond with the dog’s potential for human reactivity and aggression.
Dogs with behavior issues present a unique set of issues and since there are many different dog behaviors, we have broken down our behavior service levels to address the difficutly and danger presented to our Dog Behavior staff. Dogs who have what is perceived to be aggressive behavior need our help as much as feaful dogs, so we dont judge.
However due to the potential for danger, we take precautions for dogs who may react to humans. Dogs with the potential for human aggression should be on a leash away from the door to your home, secured in a kennel or alternate location when our Behavior Staffer arrives for the first session. To mitigate any risk, always take appropriate precautions.
If you are unsure of your dog’s potential for human reactivity, you can ask our Booking Coordinator to connect you with the Behavior staffer prior to your initial session.
Our Behavior rates are based on the client location and dog’s behavior issues. Our service rates are higher when we need to travel longer distances or for dogs with the potential for human aggression.
Summary of our Dog Behavior Service Levels
LEVEL ONE: $150 an hour (not including travel time if outside Omaha)
This service level is for dogs who have behavior issues with no human aggressive or reactive behavior. Dog on dog reactivity is included in our Level One sessions.
In our Level One behavior sessions there is virtually no or extremely low risk of the dog biting our staffer.
LEVEL TWO: $200 an hour (not including travel time if outside Omaha)
This service level is for dogs who have a bite history but have not broken the skin or where the bite was a result of the dog being put into a situation that triggered the bite; cornered, stepped on dog’s tail, dog subjected to force, human failed to read cut off signals, human cornered the dog, put their face into the dog’s face when cornered, tried to take away an item from a guarding dog, etc
Dogs at this level may charge, nip or offer human reactivity but has only bitten when provoked.
There is a low risk of a dog biting our staffer for a level 2 behavior session.
LEVEL THREE: $250 an hour (not including travel time if outside Omaha)
This level is for dogs who have bitten a human and broken the skin. Dogs who have been subjected to abuse, improperly socialized or victims of trauma.
The dog is unable to be free when new people visit its home; barks, lunges or snaps at people.
There is a definite risk of the dog biting our staffer for a level 3 behavior session.
When booking your sessions, we determine your initial Service Level based on the information you provide to our Booking Coordinator. Usually this is accurate for the session, but in some cases, we may need to reclassify your dog’s behavior service level.
If your dog displays behavior outside the scope of the expected service level in your session (lunges, attempts to bite, shows high arousal or does bite), our Booking Coordinator will contact you after the session to upgrade any upcoming sessions and process a payment for any pricing difference.
Obviously we prefer to avoid that situation, but it does happen from time to time and having the policy written out this way helps us avoid confusion later.
Our goal is to conduct a safe session to prevent any bite or reactive interactions.
